Delay sex, students told

The Member of Parliament for Budiope West John Bosco Mubito has advised students in the area to delay engaging in sexual relationships in order to succeed in academics.

The Member of Parliament for Budiope West John Bosco Mubito has advised students in the area to delay engaging in sexual relationships in order to succeed in academics.


He said a number of students who engage in premarital sex end up contracting HIV/AIDS and tend to drop out of school which impacts negatively on their future.

He was on Friday meeting students and former students of Budiope, Kidera and Baligeya memorial seed secondary schools in Budiope West constituency in Buyende district.

''We have seen many people who complete their studies and they die in a shortest time due to AIDS therefore I urge you to abstain from sex, '' Mubito said.

He called upon the youth to always test for HIV status and other sexually transmitted diseases and get early treatments in order to enable them push life.

Mubito warned youth to desist from early marriages and focus on education so as to transform the community.

The Chairman of Budiope united students Association, Mubarak Wakida, said the aim of the meeting is to encourage and restore hope among students.

Wakida noted that some students fail to achieve due to inferiority complex. He added that the association founded by Mubito will build confidence and restore hope among students in Budiope.
