With the first leg of the inaugural East African Rugby Super Cup match between Uganda champions Heathens and Kenya’s Nakuru a week away, the former’s coach is worried about the list of injuries in his camp.

After Thursday’s training, Brian Tabaruka, said despite the available boys responding positively their preparations have been affected by injuries the team suffered during the national 7s circuit that ended last week.

“We are fine tuning the team, but injuries may affect our game plan and team selection,” Tabaruka stated.

Mathias Ochwo and Alex Mubiru are still nursing injuries sustained on national team duty while, Bishop Onen, Arthur Mukama, Evans Kingasia and Scot Oluoch are recovering from juries sustained during the Nile Special Uganda Cup.

“We have tried to have them rehabilitated and doctors are yet to give us a go ahead but the problem is compounded by our fly half Jasper Ochen who got injured during the Safaricom 7s. We are doing all it takes to have a team that will give our hosts (Nakuru) a real challenge,” Tabaruka added. The two-leg tournament will be annual and the return leg will held on the next weekend of October 19 at Kyadondo.
