MAKERERE University was held to a second successive draw in the University Football League with the latest one gifting Uganda Martyrs their first point in the league after nine matches.

Makerere coach Fred Ndawula has consequently conceded that his team will need to do a little more in the second round of to win matches and remain in contention for the title.

Makerere took an early lead in the third minute of the game through Moses Semanda but the lead was erased in the 51st minute when Godfrey Katumba fired home an equaliser.

The result means Uganda Martyrs remain glued to the bottom of the table while Makerere go level with fourth placed Kampala International University on 12 points but settle for 5th on goal difference.

Kampala and Kampala International University football teams meet in what has come to be called the Kampala derby. 

Kampala University, who lead the table with 22 points have openly kept the view that they are the team to beat as they bid to win the coveted title their debut season.
