It is confirmed; Jamaican dancehall reggae artistes Konshens and Busy Signal will perform in Kampala on August 28, at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

That is not news anymore. But the Pepsi-sponsored show was first confirmed as a battle between the two, will that be the case? Maybe, maybe not.

At the press conference held Monday morning at Sheraton Kampala Hotel to launch the event, it was confirmed the two artistes have been paid all their monies and are ready to perform.

Konshens, born Garfield Spence, is expected to jet in here on August 24, while Busy Signal (Glendale Goshia Gordon) will get on August 27, ahead of their performance dubbed, “Dance With Champions.”

The two dancehall stars have each performed in Uganda before and had successful shows. It is that success, perhaps, that convinced the organisers, Balaam Marketing, BK Afrobeat, Sheraton and Crown Beverages Limited, to sink in their money and bring them back.

Pepsi’s Customer Marketing Manager, Jeff Ssekandi, said the soda company has injected in sh200m in the concert.

Konshens will be expected to perform his major songs like “Gyal A Bubble,” “Bad Gal,” “Couple Up” and “Do Sumn” while Busy Signal will definitely do his like “Come Over,” “Bedroom Bully,” “Reggae Music Again.”
The event will also have several local musicians perform.

Tickets will go on sale, eight days to the concert at selling points yet to be confirmed.

The stage will be one and the two main-acts will perform at allotted time.
