East and Central Africa challenge

TitusTugume v Moses Golola (Friday)

KICK-boxer Moses Golola arrived in the country from his base in Nairobi, Kenya where he had camped for a while training for his East and Central Africa challenge fight against local rival Titus Tugume at Freedom City on Friday.

“I can’t say much for him. All I can say is that Golola is fit to go because he has had good training but you will hear what he will tell you at Freedom City,” Kiwanuka said.

Golola is the East and Central African champion while Tugume holds the national belt in the super middleweight category.

A fortnight ago, journalists were taken aback when Tugume accompanied by musclemen for a press conference at the same venue promised to defeat Golola and bury him in a giant coffin they had carried along.

The two kick-boxers, arguably Uganda’s most popular will finally clash on Friday after years of claiming to be better than the other.

It will be a seven round fight upheld by Abitex Promotion. Golola did not attend the conference as he was reportedly fine tuning for the contest in a special training in Nairobi but Kiwanuka said then that the fighter was aware of all that happened.
