Royal Kingdom of Belgium has donated sh10b to Abilonino Instructor`s college in Ayer sub county, Kole district to build Agricultural collage, classrooms, administrations blocks, hostels multi-purpose room and sport facilities.

The construction running for ten months is in line with the government`s vision of skilling and transforming Uganda into middle class.

The district LC5 chairman, Peter Ocen told New Vision on Thursday that it was a good development for the community as the area will also have booming businesses.

He commended the Belgium government for supporting skilling Uganda project saying it is a reality that vision 2040 will be achieved.

The institution has dilapidated structures but according to the engineer and the school administration, the old buildings will never be demolished.

Willam Tukwasiibwe, the college`s principal said technical skills are the driving factor for development and job creation.

Agustine Oyang, a board member said the new agricultural college will increase accessibility of education in the region disturbed by the Lord`s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

“It will also create jobs for the youth,” Oyang said.

The minister of education, sports and technology, Jessica Alupo last month launched the project.

"True teaching and learning has meaningful outcome," he noted.
