Seals continue to excel at invitation gala

Seals Swim Club's Mercedes Mwebeiha and Jeremy Ryant continued with their winning ways, bagging 3 gold each as the Seals Invitational Swimming Championship entered day-two.

Seals Swim Club's Mercedes Mwebeiha and Jeremy Ryant continued with their winning ways, bagging 3 gold each as the Seals Invitational Swimming Championship entered day-two.


Mwebeiha won in the 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m Individual Medley to maintain her form in the ongoing competitions in the 12 and under girls category.

Ryant Jeremy also extended his dominance in the 17 and over men's category by winning gold in 100 metres freestyle, 100metres backstroke, and 100 metres Individual Medley finals.

Anthea Mudanye also added 3 gold in the100 m freestyle and 50m butterfly in the 13-14 girl's category.

Avice Meya won gold in the women 17 and over category, 100 metres free style while Katrina Ssangalyambogo and Jamila Lunkuse won gold each in the Individual Medleys in the 13-14 and 17 and over, women's category.

Daryl Anjichi put up a fine show in Boys 12 and under category, by winning 4 gold in 100 metres freestyle, 100metres backstroke, 100metres butterfly and 100 metres individual medley.

Lohol Ken won added 4 gold to his name in 100metres freestyle, 100 metres breast stroke and one in individual medley.

Mumbi Muli and Shirleen Akinyi bagged 1 gold medal each in 15-16 and 12 and under girls' categories.

Rachael Galinda and Latif Kajumbi represented Team Alton by winning 2 gold and 1 gold respectively.

The Centenary Bank sponsored competition continues on Saturday ahead of the closing day on Sunday.
