The national netball team, She Cranes has turned to God as they start their final preparations ahead of the upcoming Netball World Cup scheduled for August 7-16 in Sydney, Australia.

The She Cranes headed by their Patron Sarah Nkonge were part of Tuesday's lunchtime prayers at the Namirembe Cathedral where Rev. Samuel Muwonge and the whole congregation promised to pray for them during 'these hard times.'

“What man can’t do, God can do, therefore I am convinced that the almighty will guide you,” Muwonge said.

Last month the government offered the She Cranes air tickets, accommodation and umpires fee at the World Cup but according to Nkonge they are still short of players allowance’s and money to cater for residential training that starts this week.

“We are grateful for the offer from the government because it was our biggest worry and that’s why we opted to come here to pray and thank God for what we have and maybe ask for what we don’t have yet,” she stated.

On Wednesday the She Cranes team is likely to be trimmed to 15 players from 23 who have been undergoing training at Namboole before they start residential training at Gems Cambridge International School in Butabika, Kampala.
