Namirembe Diocese Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira has said that the loss of Rabbi Ezekiel Sserunjogi Mulondo has hit them hard, but only God will be able to counsel them and his family.

Mulondo passed on Tuesday evening and according to his daughter Jackline Basuula, a requiem service will be held at the St Francis Basilica church of Uganda today, Friday, at 1.000am before his burial at Namataba, at the grave he built 20 years ago, at 4.00pm.

While commiserating with the family on Thursday evening, Luwalira said that Mulondo's death had hit Namirembe hard; he contributed immensely to the Ttegula project, which was completed last year.

"Despite not being so well, Mulondo was experienced and a treasure to us. We trusted his experience and that is why we involved him in most of the church projects including Ttegula," said Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira, who counseled the widow, Ekiriya Mulondo, to keep calm and trust in God.

"There are experiences where counselling becomes a problem but we trust that there is that inner voice of God that is talking to you. It might be through me or from God telling you that I am with you and trust in me. That is the voice that you have to listen to," counseled Luwalira, who added that some experiences are too tough to manage save for God's control.

"He has been a father to most of us and we really appreciated his work. The best thing is that he knew where to base his life as he was saved," added Luwalira.

Geraldine Kawuma, the wife of the late Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, Misaeri Kawuma, also visited the close family to offer comfort.
