The national soccer federation FUFA has been advised not to compromise on the requirements needed by clubs to become professional.
The body was also warned that relaxing some statutes to accommodate more numbers will not help clubs attain professionalism.
FIFA development officer Ashford Mamelodi gave the advise after learning that the FUFA Licensing board has been bending rules in order to allow some clubs play in the league.
“We need not get compromised as this will interfere with our dream of becoming fully professional,” said Mamelodi.
FIFA instructor Leodgar Tenga was surprised that some clubs playing in the top tier league had no club statutes.
“How can you allow such a thing to happen? You have to strike fast and set a standard which has to be followed.
Drug tests
He also advised FUFA to start testing players for drugs.
“Truth be told, we are using drugs in the region and we need to wipe them out. Do not mind who gets embarrassed, but a good game should be clean,” said Tenga.

Mujib Kasule said that the only problem about the licensing is that the clubs look at it as a hurdle and not as an opportunity to become more organised.
Meanwhile, SC Villa has been hit most in the transfer window market but coach Hamza Kalanzi said that he will get appropriate replacements ahead of next season.
Players like the captain Steven Bengo and Hakim Ssenkumba have left.
