Vivo energy to renovate 18 Shell select stores

A total of 18 priority Shell select sites across the country are to undergo an upgrade to offer service to its clients both taking fuel and servicing their vehicles as well as walk in customers.

A total of 18 priority Shell select sites across the country are to undergo an upgrade to offer service to its clients both taking fuel and servicing their vehicles as well as walk in customers.


The Vivo Energy Group chief executive officer, Christian Chammas, said at the opening of a refurbished Shell select on Jinja Road on Tuesday.

“We have upgraded five shops so far with basic groceries, coffee on the go or a quick meal and plan to open the rest to the public by December 1, 2015,” explained Chammas.

Chammas said that Vivo energy is committed to invest over $300 million in the next three years to fuel Africa's growth with an ambition of rapid expansion, innovation and convenience.

In 2014, Vivo Energy invested in Uganda and since then, it has opened up six new shell service stations across the country and a 10million-litre storage capacity in case of fuel shortage.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Vivo Group executive vice president supply and marketing, David Mureithi, managing director Vivo Energy Uganda Hans Paulsen and the Vision Group Chief Executive Officer, Robert Kabushenga.

“Shell Jinja Road is one of the most strategically located service stations in the Kampala and that is why we decided to upgrade it with a quick service restaurant and coffee shop to enable our customers have a pick up quick meal,” said Hans Paulsen.
