KCCA FC chairman Julius Kabugo has unveiled an ambitious plan that he thinks will turn the fortunes of the club in the next five years.

KCCA FC chairman Julius Kabugo has unveiled an ambitious plan that he thinks will turn the fortunes of the club in the next five years.


Addressing the press and the top executive of the authority that included the Executive Director Jennifer Musisi at Lugogo on Saturday, Kabugo said his executive was very passionate about their job and were looking at transforming the club into a professional outfit in the long run.

Apart from streamlining the legal status and the development of KCCA FC strategic plan, Kabugo said they were also going to rebrand the club to match the KCCA institutional image and also streamline the financial management systems of the club.

He said the new executive was also embarking on mobilising additional sponsors to make the club self-sustaining within the next five years on top of streamlining the club management structures together with the guiding human resource policies.

The team has also embarked on growing the fan base and is also keen on strengthening the squad and technical teams to enhance performance on the pitch.

League and Cup double

According to Kabugo they are doing this with a target of winning the Super League, Uganda Cup and at least reaching the final stages of the Africa Confederations Cup and or the semi-finals of the Orange Africa Champions League in the next three years.

The new executive has registered an U-17 team in the FUFA Junior League and is looking at developing an academy with a proper training complex for all their soccer teams.

In this regard, Kabugo said they had already secured land in Kitebi for the project as they await the re-development
of Lugogo.

“Our executive is also looking to making significant contribution to the overall KCCA mission and vision through community outreach programmes including; supporting development of football in KCCA schools and supporting community sports and other activities,” Kabugo stated.
