In a bid to fight for next season’s Azam Premier League title, already top names in the local coaching industry have reportedly shown interest in steering Jinja-based BUL FC to the top.

The club’s chairman Silver Aliasi has revealed that he has received applications from big names like URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye, Joseph Ssemwogerere, Frank ‘Video’ Anyau and Sam Ssimbwa.

BUL finished fifth with 43 points, 26 points behind the 2014/15 league champions Vipers FC.

The Jinja-based outfit won 11 of its 30 games, lost 9 and drew in 10 matches.

But to establish themselves as viable title contenders come next season, they will have to work a lot harder to oust a Vipers side that won an impressive 20 games, drew 9 and lost only one.

“Our ambition is to vie for next season’s title, so our task as a club technical team is to see the right coach who can transform our players to have the right attitude needed to win the league title,” said Aliasi.

“Our bosses put in a lot of investments in the club, so we want to have a coach who will help change the attitude of the club players into title-winning mood.

“We have been improving season after season for the last five years in the league with the latest finishing in fifth position under caretaker Joseph Mutyaba.”

On his part, coach Isabirye did not mince his words on his interest in the job.

“I am left with a one-year contract which I refused to renew at URA FC and I was contacted to apply for BUL FC as head coach. So it’s them to decide on who to choose as the right man for the job.”

BUL players are reported to be the highest-paid with monthly salaries ranging from sh500,000 to shs2,000,000.
