UCU Lady Canons host traditional rivals A1 Challenge on sunday in a mouthwatering clash in the airtel National women basketball league.

A1 Challenge manager Ali Mavita told New Vision that despite the 67-56 upset against defending champions KCCA Leopards, she is optimistic her charges will emerge victors.

"We are doing well but just lacked composure on our offensive and got an upset against KCCA which I don't think will happen this time," Mavita stated.

"Our target is getting a good position in the regular series and we can afford losing todays fixture too," She added.

A1 Challenge boasts of star players Elisabeth Kizza, Kasimu Hatima and Maureen Amoding that are out to upset their hosts just as they did against Nkumba Ladies with a 58-54 win.

Lady Canons boast of Judith Nansobya, Vilma Awino and last season's top scorer Purity Odhiambo that shone in their 67-45 win over Nkumba and 68-63 victory over hard fighting KIU Rangers.

In the other fixtures of the day UCU Canons host Bush Court at the same venue in Mukono while Tiger Head Power entertain Chagrining Rhinos at Lugogo.
