One dead as gunmen invade family

Gunmen Wednesday night invaded a home in Rukungiri district shooting dead one person and leaving two others seriously injured.
 
The attack occurred in Kashenyi village, Buhunga parish, Buhunga Sub County in Rukungiri district.
 
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson said the three assailants were riding on a motorcycle.

They attacked the home of John Bishandiko, 75 and demanded money.
 
The deceased, Simon Turyaguma, 22, was shot in the knee. He died Nyakibale hospital in Rukungiri where he had been rushed to.
 
Those injured were Catherine Bategura, 70, Bishandiko's wife and their daughter Scovia Nduhukyire, who are admitted at Nyakibale hospital.
