Mao family advises him to quit politics

THE family of Democratic Party president general Norbert Mao has revealed that it has advised him to stay away from active politics citing poor health

THE family of Democratic Party (DP) president general Norbert Mao has revealed that it has advised him to stay away from active politics citing poor health.

 

Addressing journalists at a weekly news conference, Mao’s younger brother Dusman Okee said that following the doctors report on the former Gulu LCV chairman’s health, he’s been advised to put party activities and obligations on hold.

 

“Mao’s call to this country can be better served when he is healthy that is why we have as family decided to engage him in allowing to stay away from politics for a long time,” Okee explained.    

 

Mao on Sunday last week was rushed to International Hospital Kampala and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after developing a high temperature.

 

He also noted that the DP strongman and one time presidential aspirant after responding positively to treatment, has been discharged from hospital will now have a lengthy bed rest.

 

Okee however said although more guests from all walks of continue to visit him, access to him has been limited to allow him a good resting period.
