National soccer coach Micho Sredojevic is no stranger to Rwanda and the fact that Uganda will take on the fellow East African country in the 2016 Olympic qualifiers may not give him sleepless nights as you would think.

Micho is preparing a squad that will be joined by professional players before going into residential training at the FUFA technical centre in Njeru, Buikwe district on Tuesday.

The team flies out to Rwanda on Friday in time for the match at Amahoro stadium on Saturday and Micho is impressed by the players’ enthusiasm.

“I’m happy with the team preparations. Everybody is eager to play Rwanda. I’m sure we can achieve against Rwanda but we cannot underrate any opponent,” Micho said on Sunday.

Professional players Jamal Salim(El Merreikh), Richard Kassaga (Salam FC), Denis Iguma (Al Ahed), Yunus Sentamu (Sfaxien), Khalid Aucho (Gor Mahia) and Shafiq Batambuze (Sofapaka) are expected to join the team in camp today for the first leg in Kigali on Saturday.

Egypt lie in wait

Out of eight teams, the top three sides at this Championship will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

About 25 players will enter camp today before 18 of them can make the final squad that will head to Kigali, Rwanda for the second round qualifier.
