DEMOCRATIC Party (DP) president, Norbert Mao, has left the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he has been for 3 days.

Mao left the ICU on Thursday at 4:00pm. He was admitted on Sunday at Kampala International Hospital.

At the time of his admission, he had a high temperature. While having dinner, Mao started complaining of discomfort and high temperature that worried his family members and friends.

“The DP president is out of Intensive care, we are now going to be in our private room. If he gets better, he will be addressing a press conference. We were even thinking of tomorrow but his doctors have refused,” said Dusman Okee, Mao’s younger brother.

Meanwhile, Mao has received more guests on his sick bed than when he was still in office. Dignitaries from all over the country are flocking the hospital to check on their friend.

On Wednesday evening, Dr Kizza Besigye paid him a visit while KIU students who had come with flowers were turned away by Mao’s family.
