Kenyan-born Holywood sensation Lupita Nyongo, who was in Kampala recently to shoot the Queen of Katwe movie, has credited our own women in Uganda for a 'hair inspiration.'

Lupita on Wednesday appeared at the Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony in Cannes, southeastern France dazzling in a green Gucci chiffon plisse gown, completing her immaculate look with a Uganda-inspired natural hair bun.

Buns are a favourite hair style of Ugandan women and can be made out of natural or braided hair. There are also hair bun pieces available on the cosmetic market.

The green dress added a twist to the essemble.

Luptia posted on social media: It's #GrasshopperGreen for @festivaldecannes opening night. Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda's women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason

Grasshopers are a delicacy, a rare one, in Uganda. Lupita must have learnt that as well during her stay here as evidenced in her post.
