In a bid to brighten their chances of joining the Azam Uganda Premier League next season, JMC Hippos management has appointed former Cranes midfielder James Odoch as head coach for their FUFA Big League playoffs as they take on Masaka at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.
JMC patron Mohammed Faisal told New Vision that their coach Charles Namakola requested for leave that's why they had to hire Odoch for this period, whom they believe has enough experience to lead them to success.
"Namakola requested for leave to sort out family issues that's why we decided to hire Odoch. We hope his experience will enable us qualify,"said Faisal.
The 42 year old tactician, who is also the coach for Baza Holdings in the same league, started his duties on Saturday with team training sessions both in the morning and afternoon hours.
"I have come here to help this team attain Premier league status,"stated Odoch
Elsewhere, Kirinya Jinija SS hosts Water in the other playoffs game at Lugogo.
The winners between JMC versus Masaka and Kirinya Jinja versus Water games will face off in a final on Saturday to decide the third team that will join The Saints and Maroons who already qualified for the top flight.
