Before teenagers return to school for their second term, they will attest to the fun enjoyed the past two weekends, first with Buzz Teeniez Awards recently that was compelling and then the thrilling Mirinda Miss Teens Season 4 launch, last Saturday, at Garden City Rooftop.

Perhaps what will still leave them slightly bedazzled about the organization of the two events is why security operatives stepped in at the unexpected hours and ended the show earlier than what they were used to.

The past launches ended at dawn but, last Saturday, the show was ended at 4:30pm, just when the fun seemed to start for them. Anyway, it was all for their good.

Season 4 of Miss Teens pageant was started on a higher note what with musical performances from Mun G, Lillian Mbabazi, Maurice Kirya as well as dance and rap battles.

Kirya used to be the darling of these kids in days long gone but seems not anymore.  His recent songs like Busabala and Never Been Loved that seemingly targeted mature souls than ebullient teenagers, didn't rouse that much excitement as when Mun G took to stage. Same applies to Lillian.  She did not seem to connect well with them.

This year's Miss Teens theme is "Work Hard, Play Hard" that will, among the 40 schools expected to participate, involve those from the northern region for the first time.

This edition will also have new categories, "Miss Ambitious" and "Miss Play Hard" that will see winners attempt at fully paid five-day career guidance training and sh1m cash prize respectively.

Last year's winner was Mt. St. Mary's Namagunga's Keza Namazzi.
