Two-time finalists Singo shared the spoils with Busujju in their opening match at Saza in the Masaza Cup in a goalless affair.

Singo, who have lost both finals they have featured in, failed to have an edge over Busujju in this year’s campaign.

They will hope to overturn their luck this time after falling to Mawokota and Gomba in 2013 and 2014 respectively.  But with a start as Sunday’s against Busujju, they will have to work harder.

Busujju appeared the more content side with the draw, having previously failed to establish such an away result at Singo.

Having come into the game as favorites, Singo will have to thank their goal keeper for keeping at bay efforts that would have otherwise sent them trailing early.

The pressure was constantly on the hosts and their new coach Shafik Bisaso who joined the side this year.

Bisaso won the Cup with Gomba last year as a coach by beating his current team on penalties, but to replicate his achievement, he will have to rally his boys to win more games.

He will have been displeased to watch his players held by a stubborn Busujju who themselves can be credited for managing to hold off a formidable force in the form of the holders.

Singo will look to get back on track when they face Buwekula who beat Gomba in their opener.

Despite putting up a resilient display, Singo’s attackers failed to find a way around their opponents’ defense.

They dominated much of the second half, making use of aerial balls which proved ineffective. They could have snatched the winner in the 80th minute but Shahata Connie drove his shot into the keeper’s hands.
