On Friday guests at the Garden City Rooftop witnessed variety of talent from the 22 finalists of the Redd’s Miss Uganda 2013 contest.

Northern Uganda representative Ketty Atim and Bukedea’s girl Sarah Amongin pulled off impressive acting skills during a skit to showcase that bit of their talent.

Miss Western’s Anita Kyarimpa and Vanessa Namalwa were also amazing dancers, whereas Stella Nantumbwe’s singing could take her places.

Jennifer Namyalo and Drucillah Muzira’s runway prowess and confidence were also something to write home about. We were also impressed by Chrysalice Mitchell’s creative fashion designing brains.

But emcee Flosha Mukashaka, a contestant who sought to showcase her public speaking prowess, had the confidence but lacked that skill of a public speaker.

She could get better, especially if she learnt to keep the crowds anticipating. However, she lacked the punchlines for her jokes.

Kimberly Robinson attempted to narrate her Miss Uganda journey. It would have made a nice story because we all wanted to know what these girls have gone through since day one.

Unfortunately, she lost us mid-way. She was repetitive and the story moved like a slow wave. But, she is something of a marvel on the runway.

The judges Julius Lugaaya of Theatre Factory, Amelia Mbotto, a lecturer at Makerere University, Wycliff Luyombya, a creative director and a one Stella Nambi, will give us the results of the winner at the grand finale this Saturday at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

All in all the contestants kept us interested the whole way.
