Police is investigating the mysterious death of a 27-year-old Kenyan man who dropped dead in city lodge in Nateete, a Kampala suburb on Sunday.

Elvis Mwembavale, a special hire driver of a car export company based in Nairobi, reportedly fell down and died instantly as fellow colleagues watched, police said.

The incident occurred at about 10pm on Sunday night. The deceased had booked a room in a lodge (whose name Police could not reveal) for two nights.

The deceased is said to have worked in the car export business for the last seven years. Mwembavale, is born to Moses Mwakisha and hails from Taita village in the Coast Province of Mombasa in Kenya.

"He made a stop-over in Kampala while on his journey to Juba where his clients are based and was driving the car to the new owners," Tusiime said.

Tusiime, declined to divulge further details in connection with the death of Mwembavale, saying this would likely jeopardize investigations.

He said Mwembavale put keys on the table in his room and suddenly dropped dead.

According to Mohamed, the deceased did not complain of any illness, neither did he show any signs before the incident.

His body was taken to Mulago hospital mortuary by the Nateete police patrol pick up for a post-mortem report, before burial arrangements, before it was transported to Kenya for burial.

According to police, Mwembavale had earlier on stopped briefly at a garage in Nalukolongo, another city outskirt, where he spent four hours servicing the vehicle.
