Several Ugandans are majority of 85 people arrested in Yei municipal council on Monday in connection with commercial sex
.

The suspects were picked in lodges and guest houses in Hai-Jalaba and Dar el salaam areas in Yei town.

Yei Police chief, Jeremiah Markier, said the move was to minimize HIV prevalence in Yei town.

He said of the 85 arrested, majority of them were youths aged 25 years and below while others were students who escaped from school.

Markier said most of culprits were Ugandans hailing from the West Nile region, while the rest were Congolese and South Sudanese.

He said after tests, most the suspects tested HIV positive, warning that they would be arraigned before courts of law.

Last year, authorities in South Sudan deported commercial sex workers but some went back.
