It is usually chilly this time of the year in Fort Portal, but like the Coca-Cola Rated Next; sing it, season three auditions going on right now, it is bright.

Compared to the previous stops, (Arua and Lira), things are looking up here in Fort Portal. The auditions are not even mid-way and four people have made it through to the next round.

23year old Ernest Baluku was first to get a yes, after he did Aziz Azion’s Love yo.

His voice got a nod from judges Siima Sabiti and Esther Nabaasa, though they thought his performance was wanting.

Ken Daniels Kayongo, the other judge said; “Your vocals were not all that bad, but they were not amazing too.”

When Francis Kakande, a rather small fella walked in and burst out in a voice so strong, it kind of got the judges off guard coz many did not think he could sing.

“I thought your vocals were okay; truthfully, it wasn’t what I expected,” she said.

Ken Daniels said; “that song is so annoying, I wanted to pull my hair out and I do not even have hair!” he said.

Then came a fella called Wise with a rendition of Jamal’s Sonyiwa and it was a yes.

Next was Charles Businge who did Zambian gospel artiste Pompi song and it was a yes.

Do not be fooled though, Fortportal like Arua and Lira has got its share of clowns, jokers, in facts outright comedians that are leaving all three judges in bouts of laughter.

If it is not a rather dramatic performance, again like it was in the previous auditions, then the names have that covered.

“I am called Disc Wiper!” a fella commanded then went on to murder John Legend’s All me, living Siima rather furious, Esther shocked and Ken Daniels laughing.

Samit Peter aka 24/27 walked in and decided he was going to do a ragga song, when given permission, he burst into song. “You take her as your sister, you take her for dinner but after she plans for your death!” he lamented in song.

All three Judges burst out laughing and called him an entertainer but sadly not what they were looking for.

All those who will make it from Fort Portal will be competing at the national level for a whooping shs50million, a record deal and Ipad.

Coca-Cola rated next sing it, a partnership between Vision group’s Urban TV and Coca-cola.

The show will start airing this Sunday at 7pm on Urbana and Bukedde TV, with weekly repeats at 11am.
