Peter Ssendawula returned 144 gross over two days to complete a hat-trick of Lugazi Golf Open wins at the Mehta Golf Club on Sunday.

The Entebbe Club member and former national player hit six birdies en-route to winning his third consecutive Lugazi title in three years.

"Whenever I fail to qualify to the national team I come here and win. Anyway, I think it is because I always come back as defending champion so I end up playing well," the Entebbe Central Inn sponsored Ssendawula said.

UPDF lady Evelyn Asiimwe was also on top of her game winning the ladies category with 162 gross.

Ssendawula and Asiimwe's efforts were rewarded with a trophy and a mountain bike each, after the two-day tournament presided over by Mogas CEO Geoffrey Rugazoora, UGU vice president Johnson Omollo and Mehta Group Regional Director (African Operations) Suresh Sharma.

Jinja Golf Club's Ismail Mohamood (145c/b), Lugazi's Joel Basalaine (145) and Edwin Okong (148) were the first, second and third runners up respectively in the gross category.
