The Democratic Party has condemned the recent terror attacks in Kenya that left 148 students dead, warning that Ugandans should be “extra-careful” in the face of rising terror onslaught within East Africa.
Kenneth Kakande, the DP spokesperson said that the act of terrorism symbolizes cowardice.
“As a party we condemn terrorism, and we call upon Ugandans to be careful. We know that Uganda is among the countries that terrorists are looking at but as a party we re-affirm that terrorism is cowardice and should not be supported,” he said.
Commenting on the recent attack on Garissa University College on April 2, which has been claimed by the Al-Shabaab, Kakande said that the act was unfortunate and deplorable.
Last week, the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura said that Al-Shabaab terrorists are plotting on a number of attacks on schools along Jinja road.
Early today, police said that a suspected terrorist had been arrested in Kyengera.
