URA v Orlando Pirates (Saturday, Namboole Stadium)
ORLANDO Pirates coach Eric Tinkler is sure his side will overcome their away pressure and eliminate Uganda’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) tomorrow at Namboole Stadium.
Tinkler was part of the Pirates contingent that arrived in the country on Thursday night.
The former South Africa star said he had instructed his players to score an early goal and later defend throughout the 90 minutes.
“We shall make sure we score the first goal in the match and thereafter we fall back and defend,” Tinkler said.
Tinkler hopes the recent back to back friendly matches against Witbank Spurs and Africa Sport Academy have helped maintain their match fitness through the international break.
The Pirates tactician also pointed that teamwork will be a fundamental factor in their game-plan on Namboole Stadium.
“We shall win because that’s what brought us and nothing more,” he added.
The Buccaneers beat URA in their first encounter that ended 2-1 at the Orlando Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa on March 14 and this weekend’s game will mark nearly two weeks since the Pirates last competitive fixture.
The 1995 CAF champions are returning to continental football two years after losing against the Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the final in 2013.
