The BBC World Service has launched a new documentary series dubbed Med in Africa.

The BBC World Service has launched a new documentary series dubbed Med in Africa which was produced in collaboration with Ugandan journalists from Urban TV.

 
Twenty five percent of the eight-part series showcasing health innovations across Africa and what they might mean for the future of healthcare on the continent and beyond was produced by Urban TV journalists working with the BBC crew.
 
BBC started airing the documentaries weekly on March 17 and the ones on Uganda will run on March 31 and April 21.

Raziah Athman, one of the Ugandans from Urban TV who participated in the BBC Africa Partnership Initiative (API) unit productions said: "It was a good opportunity to team up with the world's best in television broadcasting so we now have a new challenging benchmark for our performance."
 
Viewers can tune in weekly to Focus on Africa on Urban TV, to BBC World News at 17.30GMT and on BBC World Service at 15.05GMT and at bbc.com/Africa.
 
Med in Africa has been produced with Urban TV in Uganda, Cape Town University in South Africa, Metro TV in Ghana, Sahara Media Group in Tanzania, KUFM in Kenya and Canal 2 in Cameroon.
