How do I dress my post-baby body?

Jun 12, 2013

My fashion taste changed after I gave birth. These days I dress more for comfort than to get noticed, since my body has changed a lot. I want to feel comfortable without exaggerating my seemingly big body.

For your tops, include some outfits that accentuate your positive physical attributes. Look for shirts that have a little room in the stomach area such as tunic shirts, sweaters or dresses that wrap.

These shirts can work great in hiding the problem stomach area that is left after delivery, while accentuating other parts of the body, such as the neck, arms or collar bone. They also make for great shirts to wear when breastfeeding.

If you have to dash out to town or anywhere, consider drawstring pants. These allow for a custom fit as they do not press too hard in case you had a C-section. They are very good for your weight which is still fluctuating. While at it, you can also include stretchy cotton dresses, as they are accommodative.

Add a blazer to wear with a skirt, trousers or jeans. Blazers are perfect for looking nice without trying too hard.
Include a few black clothing although splashing colour is the in-thing now.

Every woman knows that the little black dress is a basic clothing essential that is a must-have in the closet. Wearing black can be very slimming. You can accentuate your outfit with some colourful jewellery or accessories. Throw on a colourful scarf or belt with your black trousers, skirt or dress.

Put on a wide belt. It can be an eye-catching accessory that can be worn with many different outfits. Choose a belt that has a neutral colour and put it around your long sweaters or dresses for an effective, trendy way to hide your post-baby belly.
