Jamaican reggae dancehall star Koshens, real name Garfi eld Spence, will be returning to Uganda for the second time.
We established this last Friday at Club Venom in Kabalagala, where Crown Beverages’ Pepsi, which will be flying Konshens into the country, hosted journalists to a launch party of the upcoming concert.

This time round, he will be accompanied by the beautiful  reggae singer and song writer Alaine Laughton, the one behind hits like No Ordinary Love, Deeper and Chak Chaka Love.

They will be performing at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on August 23, they assured us via video at the event in Kabalagala. Konshens’ return to Uganda comes hardly a year after his immensely successful show at Kyadondo Rugby grounds last year, which was partly sponsored by Vision Group.

The over 25,000 revellers he attracted at the show overwhelmed him so much that he decided to give it a second shot.
In fact, he even released a documentary dubbed Konshens Live in Uganda, Africa. The documentary shows the journey, the Ugandan people, the love he was showered, plus the impact of dancehall and reggae music on the Ugandan entertainment scene.

Meanwhile, this will be the first time Alaine performs in Uganda although she has performed in Kenya before and has made an appearance on the musical talent search show Tusker Project Fame. The above hits and other successful ones like Fur Your Eyes Only, Giving It All To You and I Love You will grace the event.

And while he has been gone, Konshens has composed other hits like Without You, Tan Up & Wuk, Like Woow and Walk And Wine among others.

So watch out for those, alongside Ugandans’ old favourites Gal A Bubble, Couple Up and Do Sumn
