1.0 Project Background
Avocats Sans Frontières and Uganda Law Society is implementing a Legal Aid Project as one of the core priorities of its 2011-2015 Strategic Plan in various legal clinics in Kampala/Luzira, Jinja, Gulu, Arua, Masindi, Kabarole, Fort Portal, Mbarara, Soroti and Kabale. A key element of the project envisions the setting up of a database for use by the ULS legal aid clinics so as to better record, manage and coordinate the case-intake process and track the development of cases handled by the clinics.
2.0 The following are the key deliverables from the consultants:
1. Set up programs that enable storing, modifying, and extracting information from a database, it also provides users with tools to add, delete, access, modify, and analyze data stored in one location.
2. Maintaining the integrity of stored data, running security scans and users access, and installing an information-recovery system.
3. The information from a database presented in a variety of formats including a report writer program that outputs data in the form of a report, graphs and charts.
