SC Villa president Immanuel Missaga believes the acquisition of Spanish coach/player scout, Antonio Flores will go a long way in helping the club not only to market Ugandan players in Europe but also help them professionalise.

The Spaniard who is here for two weeks is contracted by Villa over a two-season period to sell players on a 'commission basis' according to Misagga.

Misagga on Monday unveiled Flores to the players and coaches after their morning work-out at Villa Park, Nsambya and said the scout was going to help the club find placements for Ugandan players in Spain, Germany and Russia where he has contacts.

Misagga who wants 'return on investment', said Villa's target was to sell at least 3-4 players at the end of every season in Europe, the major reason why Flores is here.

"Players must utilize their full potential in about ten years so that they and the club can gain from their talent. We also want to get better deals for them because the difference in earnings between Uganda and Kenya where most go now is not big," Misagga reasoned.

"Those in Europe tell us that in ten years' time Europe will be looking to African talent to boost their squads so he is here to guide us on dieting, training as we prepare our players for professional football in Europe,"

Misagga said the Spaniard will also help the club acquire modern training kits when he returns to Europe.

"I'm happy to be here for the first time, I have seen different training methods here and there are so many things that need to change to match European standards, I'm making analysis and will advise Villa on how to improve all aspects," Flores said.

"Most African players have talent and only need proper training methods and facilities to deliver so I'm going to work with the president towards that but I also need to watch them in action before making final conclusions,"

Flores is the head coach of the U-16 Polideportivo Aguadulce, a team that plays in Andaluza league which is in the 5th level of competition in Spanish League Football.
