Three employees of Panamera bar and restaurant owned by Desh Kananura have also been released on bail. The trio, together with their boss, is facing murder charges.

Cyrus Maganda 29, Samuel Muzulewa, 26 and Jacob Oyango, 40 were on Thursday granted non cash bail of sh5m and sureties bonded at sh60m not cash at City Hall Court in Kampala.

Trial magistrate Julius Borore granted the suspects bail after they produced six substantial sureties in court. The sureties include Grace Musenga, Steward Akena, David Ocaya, Gerald Katale and Dick Kasolo.

“After being remanded to Luzira Prison for six months, I therefore grant you bail because it is a constitutional right for you to have it,” the magistrate said.

Kananura was released on sh20m cash bail on February, 4, 2013 by Justice Mukasa Lameck of High Court in Kampala.

Prosecution alleges that in the month of September 2012 at Panamera Bar and Lounge in Naguru, with malice aforethought, the suspects, together with Kananura's brother brother Raymond Kananura, unlawfully killed Katerega.

Last year Kateregga, a senior six leaver, was tortured over a sh30, 000 tip. Panamera staff were under instruction never to have money with them while while at work.

The magistrate adjourned the case to June, 13, 2013 for further hearing.
