KAMPALA - Kyebando FC maintained a strong grip at the top of the Scorpion Group of the Uganda regional league after a 3-0 win over Kasse FC on Wednesday.

The home side took the lead halfway into the first half through an Oscar Ogwano Tiago nifty finish at Kanyanya playground.

Kasozi Wilson built on the tally in the 32nd minute before Katumba Allan wrapped up the rout with a third goal four minutes later.

The game had earlier been scheduled to be played two weeks ago on January 10 but was delayed.

It was a convincing victory for Sekweyama Robert’s side as the coach applied some tactics in the second half to ensure his men remained in full control.

He made a double substitution on the hour mark by introducing Mugalu Allan and Tebyasa Daniel for team captain Nasser Nsubuga and Kasozi Wilson, respectively.

With 16 minutes to go, Kyobe was brought on for goal-scorer Tiago.

The score-line remained intact despite the reforms but Kyebando’s accurate efforts in front of goal early in the game were enough to secure yet another win.

They now have 29 points in 10 matches.

Kyebando’s team manager Zimaze Cyrus believes his side has what it takes to progress to the Big League next season.

“My team is capable of qualifying for the Big League next season since we have the quality and the best players compared to other teams.”
