Walusimbi hands over office to new Katikkiro

Outgoing Katikkiro of Buganda Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi Monday afternoon handed over office to the new Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga at Bulange Mengo.

Mayiga is the fourth Katikkiro during Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi’s reign.

Walusimbi on Sunday held his last official meeting with Kabaka Mutebi, where he also returned the official kingdom mace (Ddamula).

Mayiga has served in the kingdom as the information minister and working together with the youth, whom the Kabaka believes are the foundation of the kingdom development.
