The ICT ministry has offered UOC five computers. This center is the first of its kind in East and Central Africa. South Africa stands out as the country with the most developed of such centers on the continent.

“This idea would not be able to get off the drawing board without the financial backing of the International Olympic Committee,” explained UOC head William Blick.

With such a facility, UOC will be able to easily avail information on Olympism to the general public and resource centers like educational institutions.

UOC will also use this E-library to reach out to the different regions of the country by setting. This will be via satellite centers where information will easily be accessed by the people in those respective regions.

The function will also be an opportunity for the recently appointed UOC commissions to fraternise with the executive. A total of 16 commissions were appointed to ease the committee’s administration.
