ST. Juliana SS from Wakiso district maintained their title pursuit in the COPA Coca-Cola soccer finals with a 2-0 victory over Asinge SS yesterday.

A brace from Mahad Kalema ensured St. Juliana top group F with nine points at Kigezi High school ground.

St. Juliana are level with Gombe SS on points but go top because of a better goal difference.

The group also has Nyero High, Maluku SS, Lango College, Gombe SS and Kitgum High.

St. Juliana’s coach George William Lutalo is optimistic his charges will make further progress in the annual event launched 20 years ago.

“We have what it takes to move out of the group stages. After that, I will plan my next strategy,” Lutalo said yesterday.

Elsewhere, Mukono region outfit Dynamic SS took charge of their group despite drawing 1-1 with hosts Kigezi High.

But the result left Dynamic top of the group with 10 points, two better than Kigezi while former champaigns Kibuli SS are in third position with six.
