PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has promised to continue rewarding top sports performers at international events, as a way of appreciating their efforts in flying Uganda’s flag on the world stage.

The president made the pledge through state sports Minister Charles Bakkabulindi, as he handed over a Mitsubishi Double cabin L200 to Moses Kipsiro, for his achievement in the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games.

The national athletics federation also secured a 30-sitter omni bus promised to them after the Maputo All Africa Games.

Moses Kipsiro became the first athlete to win both the 5000m and 10000m events at the Commonwealth Games, and on the team’s arrival, the President promised him a vehicle that will be able to counter the hilly terrain of Kapchorwa.
