DOMESTIC soccer body FUFA will unveil the new Uganda Cranes coach on Wednesday next week, an inside source revealed yesterday.

The source that spoke on grounds of anonymity, said that FUFA was finalising the process of vetting applicants before unveiling the foreign coach in time for national teams due for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) engagements in June and July.

However, FUFA publicist Rogers Mulindwa was cagey on issue.

But the official said that they were planning what he called a big press conference next Wednesday.

The federation said that over 10 applicants, many of whom European nationals, applied for the Uganda Cranes job following the sacking of the Scot Bobby Williamson last month.

The candidates have either applied personally or through their agents.

Mulindwa said that targets for the new coach include taking Cranes to the Africa Nations Cup and World Cup finals, a feat that previous tacticians have not achieved since the 1970s.
