Kipyeko and Chelangat showed that they were a class apart as they won their respective events in the dusty Bukwo town that attracted athletes from all age categories, with top performers in the open categories winning cash prizes.

Chesang had a good run in the women's category, which attracted big names like Adero Nyakisi, who was making a comeback.

In the 8km women run, Chesang broke away from the chasing pack with 2km to go  beating second placed Mercylyne Chelangat by over one minute with Doreen Chemutai coming third.
