Jas Mangat 85
NATIONAL championship leader Ponsiano Lwakataka will bear the handicap of opening the way in this weekend’s MP Rally but Rwandan Christakis Fitidis who will be in pursuit is the least of his worries.
The two-day race will cover Masaka, Lwengo and Bukomansimbi districts.
“Being first on road is not a favourable position but I am used to it. Fitidis who will be chasing me can’t even threaten to catch me so there is no such pressure,” Lwakataka remarked.
The championship leader whose Subaru N8 was taken to Nairobi to overhaul an engine expects it back today.
Duncan Mubiru (Subaru N12), Ronald Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo9) and Jas Mangat (Subaru N12) will hit the road third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The third round of the National Rally Championship will start with a super special stage at Misaali in Masaka tomor¬row ahead of the second leg that will cover five competitive sections on Sunday.
