The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has partnered with cultural institutions to attract investors to various regions of the country
.

According to UIA’s senior investment executive, John Musajjakawa, the authority has realized that it’s easier to promote investment in various parts of the country by working with the traditional institutions.

Addressing a press conference at Uganda Media Center in Kampala on Thursday, Musajjakawa revealed that the investment body is working with Busoga Yaiffe, an NGO working for the development of the region to organize this year’s Busoga investment convention.

The investment authority and Busoga Yaiffe, he explained, are organizing the convention to showcase the region’s existing opportunities for investment in health, education, agriculture and trade.

The four-day convention will run from December 17 to 20 at Crested Crane hotel in Jinja town. Musajjakawa also said they are organizing the home is best summit in Gulu district on December 19.

He said the summit which will be attended by investors will be used to highlight the investment opportunities in the area.
“We have realized it’s easy to promote investment through traditional institutions because the traditional institutions can easily communicate messages about investment to their subjects,” he added.

Musajjakawa said the authority will work with all traditional leaders in all parts of the country to promote investment.
The vice president of Busoga Yaiffe, Hellen Namutamba, said the convention will introduce to investors numerous investment opportunities in Busoga region.

The fourth Busoga convention will be held on the theme: Exploring and exploiting investments for the transformation of Busoga region. The convention, Namutamba, explained will also be used to showcase Busoga’s culture.

“We expect hundreds of people to attend this year’s convention from within Uganda and abroad,” she added.

A Health camp, Namutamba, said will be set up at the venue of the convention to provide free health services to the population.
