KAMPALA - Defending champions MTN Heathens have a record 10 league titles but are not about to allow their ‘young brothers’ Toyota-Marsh Buffaloes have sight of their first title in the Nile Special Rugby Super Cup final today.

Instead, Heathens coach Brian Tabaruka was wary of Buffaloes hunger for success in the run up to the final that has two teams from Kyadondo Rugby Club.

Tabaruka, in the true spirit of the masculine game believes success must not be offered on a silver plate but earned through sweat and tactics.

“Buffaloes are not a team to play around with. We have won many titles and they have none. Part of their strength lies in their hunger for success.

“We are not going to give anything away. They are going to come out strong,” Tabaruka warned.

Tabaruka, who will assemble his arsenal in tested and proven Mathias Ochwo, Alex Mubiru, Assuman Mugerwa, Scot Oluoch and Michael Wokorach among others, described the tie as “a mouthwatering final that both teams have eagerly been awaiting.”

Asked why he regarded Buffaloes highly, Tabaruka argued that, “They are switched on, tenacious and don’t stop fighting. I don’t want to state what we will use to neutralize them,” the Heathens tactician stated.

Buoyed by their victories over Kobs in the semifinal and earlier on Pirates in the league, Buffaloes have reason to believe they can wrestle the title from Heathens.

“We have never been as prepared as we are this time. We are going to fight for the title and hopefully at the end of the day be crowned champions,” Buffaloes coach/player Robert Seguya warned.

Buffaloes, who got promoted to the Super 8 five years ago, have made remarkable improvement and they would love to seal with silverware.

The league sponsor, Nile Special will sponsor fans for a trip to Kenya for the Elgon Cup and Dubai 7s.
