The national motocross team captain Arthur Blick Jr. has ruled out boycotting Kenya organised FIM-Africa central Africa motocross event.

Blick told New Vision Online that it would be silly for him to boycott the Kenyan event.

Kenya on Sunday refused to honour the regional calendar alleging that Uganda crowds are rowdy, a claim which even their (Kenyan) riders have refuted.

“I would love to punish them, but we love the sport and we are determined to develop it to greater heights. We shall not be cowards like them not to honour any event in Kenya but there must be a formal commitment that shall not be breached by any party,” Blick stated.

Blick also congratulated his charges for the victory saying that he is confident they would still have won the regional trophy with or without Kenya’s presence.

Meanwhile the national motorsport governing body (FMU) is to lodge a petition to the continental body (FIM Africa) demanding for compensation and reprimanding of their Kenya counterparts for the damages caused when they failed to honour the regional motocross event last Sunday.

FMU also apologised to the fans for the disappointment caused at Busiika saying that it was beyond their control since they didn’t have authority over the Kenya federation.

“We first of all apologise to our fans for the disappointment. We have tried our best to make sure that we give them value but this was beyond our control,” FMU vice President in charge of motocross Joseph Mwangala said at a press conference

“We have evidence to prove that Kenya just wanted to sabotage the event and we are lodging a petition to FIM-Africa demanding for compensation and disciplinary action,” Mwangala added.

The FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross championship is recognised by the continental body.
