Vision Groups Chief Executive Officer Robert Kabushenga has advised the Corporate League organisers to consider making the event a money making venture.

Kabushenga, who was the chief guest at this year’s awarding ceremony held on Friday night at Hotel Africana said the organisers should look beyond having the games just as a fun but focus on ways of making money to sustain the Corporate League brand for years to come.

“You should look beyond holding these events for fun outings and try to make money that can sustain it. Maybe this could bring the competition to a different level,” Kabushenga stated.

The awards gala that attracted over 300 guests from the 44 companies that participated in the 2014 season, saw Roofings Group walk away with the overall trophy for the first time in their 10-year participation.

The steel manufacturers won volleyball, athletics and soccer trophies, and finished second in netball. They finished the season with 227 points at the top of the table, 13 points ahead of second placed Hotel Africana (214 points). Uganda Breweries Limited came third with 211 points.
