The life of Innocent Okunya, a 21 year old is being threatened by a disease known as Right renal agenesis and left chronic glomerulonephritis ( kidney failure) and needs a total of sh70m to undergo kidney Trans plant in India.

According to a medical report signed by Dr.Simon Peter Eyoku, a Consultant/Renal Physician at Mulago hospital, Okunya needs urgent surgery.

“Okunya has right renal agenesis and left chronic glomerulonephritis in stage V kidney failure presently sustained on conservative remedies. He requires urgent renal transplantation at Apollo Hospital in India,” wrote Dr.Eyoku.

The sh70m is meant to cater for his surgery, accommodation for three persons that is him, the mother and the kidney donor while in India and also return air tickets for the three persons.

Hellen Akurut, Eyoku’s mother says she cannot afford raising all this kind of money considering she is a single mother and primary school teacher who earns a meager salary and spends all of it on the son’s medication.

“I am a single mother and primary school teacher who earns s small salary and every time I get that salary, it slips out of my hands buying for my only son medication and cannot afford to raise that much money for surgery,” says Akurut.

Akurut adds that she was told by the doctor that her son was born with only one kidney which is the one that is very sick now and if he does not get urgent attention, his health may deteriorate.

“Since the year began, he has not been able to go back to school because of the illness, and for the last 6 weeks, he has been on and off on blood transfusion due to lack of blood. Am requesting all well-wishers to help me save my only child,” adds Akurut with tears in her eyes.

She can fly her son to India immediately she gets the money. Well-wishers wanting to help Akurut save her only child’s life can put the money on his bank account in Centenary bank (3620002507) or can reach her on her mobile phones-0776941994
