Nkumba v Uganda Martyrs

MUBS coach Charles Ayieko praised his team’s resilience as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with KU yesterday and go top of the University Football League table. The match was held at Nakawa.

“Each one of us wanted the three points to outpace the other. I’m happy we came back in to the game because we would have lost the contest to KU and Nkumba University,” Ayieko said after the match.

MUBS and KU are level at ten points but the former go top on superior goal difference.

Paul Musamali was on target in the 4th minute and shortly after the break for KU.

MUBS, who appeared shaky from kick-off pulled one back following Maxwell Okello’s header in the 50th minute.

Henry Wanyama put the team level after 78 minutes.

Kampala University had themselves to blame for the laxity that allowed MUBS to pile pressure on them sending the crowd wild with excitement in one of the most entertaining matches of the season so far.

Action will continue tomorrow with Nkumba taking on Uganda Martyrs.
