Bushenyi District Police Commander, Richard Anyama, has been suspended over allegations of absenteeism from duty.  Anyama has been Bushenyi DPC for 3 years.

According to a letter from the Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura’s office and signed by Hajji Balimwoyo on behalf of the Police chief, Anyama is suspended on four accounts, which include: disobedience of lawful orders from his supervisors, absenting himself from his station without the knowledge of his immediate supervisor, lack of teamwork in his area of responsibility and failure to effectively and efficiently supervise all those under him.

Anyama was ordered to immediately hand over the office to the Regional Police Commander Greater Bushenyi, Paul Nkore, pending investigations.

Nkore confirmed the developments and said the officer in question had already heeded to the directive.
When contacted, Anyama said: “I have already handed over office.”
